Wait for the Lord

Just two years into his reign as king of Israel, Saul found himself battling the Philistines (1 Samuel 13). As the Philistines pressed in on Saul and threatened to overwhelm him and his troops, he took things into his own hands. Much like Abraham before him, instead of obeying God and waiting, he rushed ahead of the hand of God. It was in the heart of a young shepherd boy, a boy who would become a man after God's own heart, that we see a wealth of fruit born of waiting on God.
