Kindergarten - 3rd Grade

From Head Knowledge to Heart Transformation

K-3 is a safe, fun, Bible-based ministry for your early elementary student to grow in their love for Jesus and build life-long friendships.

Our Mission

Jesus came for children, loved, and valued them, and we feel the same! Children can make the life-changing decision to follow Jesus and grow in their relationship with Him.

K-3 ministry partners with parents to grow your child's faith and expand their understanding of the Bible. We desire for your kids to grow in their love for Jesus and become more familiar with the stories and truths of the Bible.

Our programs engage kids in age-appropriate ways to move them from head knowledge to heart transformation.

Safety

Safety is a primary concern for our K/1 and 2/3 rooms. All KidMin volunteers are screened and have completed a background check.

We use a computer generated check-in system that prints a series of random numbers on the child’s name tag. Simultaneously, a receipt with the same series of numbers is printed for the adult to keep in their possession. To ensure safety at dismissal, children are only released to the adult who shows the receipt with the numbers that match the child’s name tag.

Sundays

1st Hour (8:00-9:00 AM)
  • Elementary age children are invited to join their families in the worship service.

2nd Hour (9:30-10:30 AM)
  • K-1st Grade in the K/1 Zone | 2nd-3rd Grade in 2/3 Zone
  • Large-group worship and an interactive Bible lesson 
  • Grade-specific small groups for students to connect with caring adult leaders and classmates. 
  • Fun activities, games, group discussion, and memory verse practice.

3rd Hour (11:00 AM-12:00 PM)
  • K/1 and 2/3 combine for 3rd hour
  • Large group worship service with high-energy singing, object lessons, and fun games to teach biblical truths about what it means to be a follower of Christ.
  • Pick-up at the end of service is through the 2/3 Zone doors.

Wednesdays

School Year (August-May)
6:45-8:00 PM | Doors open at 6:35 PM
  • K-1st Grade in the K/1 Zone | 2nd-3rd Grade in 2/3 Zone
  • K-3 uses a three-year curriculum to build a strong biblical foundation. 
  • Each week includes a large-group lesson, interactive stations, games, Scripture memorization, and small-group discussions to help kids grow in their understanding of God's truth and how it applies to their daily lives.

Summer (June)
9:30-11:00 AM (Heritage Pavilion)
It's Summer to the Max! Join us at the pavilion for lessons, activities, and snacks.

Summer Camp

Summer Camp is a big deal at NMC! It's a chance for students to get away and refocus their lives on Jesus while having a ton of fun.

Camp is filled with learning about Jesus, high-energy worship, cabin group time with caring leaders, being outside, and fun games and activities.

Kids Camp Junior (day camp) is for current K/1 students.
Kids Camp (2 days, 1 night) is for current 2/3 students.

  • The KidMin check-in stations are located next to the Welcome Center just inside the Visitor’s Entrance on the north side of the church. 
  • At check-in, your child will get a name tag(s) and appropriate room assignments. 
  • If you have any questions when you arrive, you can find a friendly face at the KidMin Visitor’s Center.
