High School Ministry
High School Ministry
High School Ministry encompasses 9th through 12th Grade. Our ultimate goal is to partner with parents to see students own their own faith in Jesus (move from religion to relationship) and allow that faith to impact the world around them (move from relationship to spiritual reproducers) during their high school years and beyond. This happens in large, medium, small, and individual opportunities through programs, trips and events.
These are the weekly opportunities we offer:
The purpose is to build biblical and theological foundations (ministry to the HEAD by discipling the mind). All grades meet together for corporate teaching and round table discussion during the school year. Over Summer, each grade meets separately.
9:30-10:30 a.m. in the Aux Gym
The purpose is to provide an age appropriate worship gathering (ministry to the HEART through worship and teaching).
7-8 p.m. in the Fieldhouse during the School year
7-8 p.m. in the YMC during the Summer
Small Groups are a Christ-centered space where any student can find belonging with peers and an adult (ministry by linking HANDS with others). Groups range in size from 5-12 and are split by grade and gender. Freshman-junior Small Groups meet weekly on Wednesday nights at 6:15 p.m., and senior Small Groups meet Sunday nights from 6-8 p.m. (depending on when you sign up). Small Group outings throughout the year as planned and determined by the Small Group Leaders.
Small Groups do not meet during the Summer.
There are multiple unique events that happen throughout the year on or near the NMC campus. You can find out more about these events here.
Something powerful happens when we get away from everyday life, dive into getting to know each other, and allow God to speak to us. These are the major trips we take in High School Ministry.
