Life of Peter Daily Audio Devotional

2000 years ago, Jesus was walking on a shoreline when he looked out at some young fisherman and invited them on a journey with three simple words: “Come, follow me.” In those words, Jesus was inviting these young men on a journey from being fishermen to becoming fishers of men. One of those young men was named Peter. In that moment, he chose to leave his fishing net behind and follow Jesus. The journey that followed was marked by some incredibly high highs, and some very low lows. In the end, Jesus took him from that spot he was at and led him to a spot where he played an instrumental role in the world-changing message of the Gospel. We are calling this Peter’s Here to There journey. And Just as He did with Peter, God is wanting to take you and me on a journey from Here (where we are) to There (where He’s calling us). This audio devotional will be a daily journey through the life of that ordinary, unschooled fisherman named Simon Peter. The Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, and the book of Acts will serve as our guides on this journey. The way we will study the scriptures will be a little unique and require you to use your imagination. As we examine each the different stories in Peter’s life, you are going to be encouraged to place yourself at the scene of the events and seek to look, feel, hear, maybe even smell and taste what’s going on. After doing this, you will be invited to reflect and respond to some questions in an effort to consider how Peter’s journey from Here to There can speak to the journey where Jesus is calling you to follow Him from Here to There. In this audio version, different narrators will walk you step by step through the process, and there will be pauses at certain points for you to reflect, pray and respond to what Jesus is shoing you. If you would prefer to work through this devotional in a written or interactive online format, you can do on the NMC app available with mobile devices or download the weekly devotional at our websites: These audio devotionals will drop daily on the app, website and through iTunes under the title NMC’s Life of Peter Audio Devotional May God guide your hearts and mind on this journey. *The Bible Study method we will be using throughout this journey is an adaptation of what is known as the Ignatian Method.
