Just Do It! What a great branding phrase for NIKE. Yet, long before that brand existed the concept of “just do it” became the theme of James. In five short chapters, James challenges believers to KNOW AND DO what’s right. For some, it’s a problem of knowing. Do we really know what the Word of God teaches? Do we know what to do with wealth? Do we know how to treat people fairly? Do we know the tie between our faith and our deeds? Do we know the results of selfish ambition? For others it’s a problem of doing. All the Bible knowledge in the world is absolutely worthless unless we DO what it says. Increasing our knowledge of Scripture is unproductive when it is detached from actions. In our study KNOW AND DO: Learning and Living the Word of God, our team of teaching pastors will lead our study of the book of James to increase our knowledge of the Bible so we can truly be “doers of the Word!” No book is more practical yet convicting than James.
