I said, “God, I do not understand this world, everything is dying and broken. Why do I see nothing but suffering? God, I’m asking could this be Your plan?” * The brokenness, the chaos, and the need of this world can be overwhelming when looking at everything from a high enough altitude. Our world is riddled with hunger, violence, racism, disease, hatred and the list goes on and on. Sometimes, it is easy to question God. Was this really Your plan? The answer is simple. No. This was not His plan. Sin created a really big mess and skewed God’s original design. While this was not His plan, thanks be to God that He is in the business of redemption. God is redeeming all things back to Himself. He is restoring brokenness, calming chaos, and meeting needs. The most mind-scratching thing of it all is that many times He is choosing to use the Church—you and me—as the workers to carry out His plan of restoration. This is one of those moments where we get be the Church, and God is going to allow us to play a role in His redemption story. From November 6-9, we get to partner with Feed My Starving Children to pack two million meals for starving children all over the world. And through our Let’s Give It all Away! campaign, we get to help feed thousands more through partnerships with area food banks. Let’s continue to press into the Spirit and partner with God in redeeming all things! * Lyrics from Ghost Ship’s song “Where Were You” written by Cam Huxford IV.
