There are a lot of incredible people that make up our NMC family… far too many for everyone to know each other. It takes some very gifted and committed people to prepare facilities, run logistics, coordinate programs, and pastor the church body. In this ongoing series, we want you to get to know those who make up our amazing staff:
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN AT NMC? 2 years.
WHAT DO YOU DO AT NMC? Transition to Ministry Intern
I have the privilege of coordinating all programming for NMC’s Kindergarten and 1st graders, including planning and prepping Bible lessons, worship sets, activities, games, as well as events like K/1 CAMP.
IF YOU HAD A DAY TO DO WHATEVER YOU WANTED, WHAT WOULD YOU DO?
I would get up early, grab a giant cup of coffee, my bible, and guitar, and road trip to either the nearest beach or to the mountains. I would spend the day relaxing and marveling at God’s amazing creation.
WHEN IS A TIME YOU JUST LAUGHED LIKE CRAZY WITH YOUR NMC FAMILY?
Have you met Deandra (our 4th/5th Grade Coordinator) and I?? We laugh… A LOT!
WHAT IS THE BACKSTORY TO HOW YOU ENDED UP AT NMC?
February 2012 I was searching for an experience in KidsMin and googled “summer ministry internships.” SOAR was the 3rd link on the list. I clicked on it and applied. I was accepted into the 2012 SOAR class and spent the summer loving every minute of my time at NMC. I returned to Washington to finish my last year of school and student teaching and after graduation I sought after what my next step was. Then I got a call from Terry Bley. Within a month I was back in Indiana and I’ve been here ever since.
WHAT IS SOMETHING YOU GET TO DO IN YOUR JOB WHERE YOU FIND THE GREATEST JOY?
My 3 greatest passions in life are God, kids, and music. When those 3 things come together is where I find the greatest joy. I LOVE leading kids in worship. I love hearing them sing to the Lord at the top of their lungs, and watching them as they close their eyes and raise their hands to the One True King.
