It is time to be done with half-heartedness, going through the motions, and attempting to play the part. God’s plan for us is about following Him wholeheartedly. God’s plan is not a silly hybrid of blending some of Him, some of society, with a mix of our own ideas. God’s plan is for a people that will passionately and obediently follow Him, fully committed.
Vision & Values
We are making fully committed disciples locally by strategically developing ministries that will assist a person in progressing through the five key phases of discipleship. We believe that it is critical for a fully committed disciple to change, grow, connect, engage and multiply. We are making fully committed disciples regionally through strategic regional partnerships in places such as Chicago, Rochester, Gary, Topeka and South Bend. We are making fully committed disciples globally through strategic global partnerships in places such as Honduras, Mexico, India and Africa.
The call of Jesus is never unclear. Jesus’ invitation to follow Him demands a response. There is no middle ground. While nominalism and lukewarmness seem to be the preferred response to Jesus’ call, He asks for total commitment. There is an urgent yet inviting tone to His invitation. The wisest and best place for us to be is following Him – closely.
Case studies are intriguing. How does something that is average become excellent? Can we identify the factors that prompted the change? Whether a marriage, a business, a workplace or a life, identifying the factors that enhance growth gives us valuable information. That’s true spirituality! When we identify and apply those things that accelerate spiritual growth we best fulfill God’s calling on our lives. We become the people He called us to be.
From the very beginning God has wired us to be connected to others. It was God’s desire that His children resist the temptation to fly solo. Instead, He wants us to live connected to each other. To walk fully committed to Jesus cannot be done in isolation. It must be done in connection with each other. God wired us that way. We grow that way. We thrive that way-even when we don’t feel like it. It is all about the power of plural.
Talk is cheap. Theory alone is worthless. There is a time and place to either “put up or shut up!” Living fully committed lives calls for us to move from talk to action. Just as Jesus took His disciples to the place where they had to step out of their safety and comfort zone and engage, the same is expected of us. Fully committed disciples step out in obedience as people on a mission.
It’s miserable when you are somewhere with poor cell phone coverage. Sometimes we have to walk to certain places to even get a connection, and then it’s often only a 1G connection. God never designed us to live at 1G. His blueprint for our life calls for a 4G connection. It’s about living beyond yourself. It’s about investing your gifts, talents, and abilities for the purpose of multiplication. It’s about 2 Timothy 2:2. It’s the way God wired His kingdom and way He wants to rewire us.
