College Age Ministry
College Age Ministry
When we say “College Age Ministry” we are referring to High School grads age 18-25. This Ministry is closely tied to our Sticky Faith Initiative. As many of our students who have graduated from NMC Student Ministries spend the majority of their college years on a campus that does not allow them to attend our campus weekly, the efforts of our College Age Ministry tend to be less programmatic and more seasonal.
Some key elements that are a part of our College Age Ministry are:
Generation Next Small Church
A College Age group that meets year round Sunday Morning 9:30-10:30 a.m.
College Age Tuesdays (Summer Only)
Meeting Tuesdays May 9 through June 27, 7-9 p.m. in the YMCLL.
A gathering of 18-25 year olds that is all about meaningful community, Bible study and honest discussion. Our time will be marked by 4 key aspects:
1. FOOD – Every night we will have supper together, because something cool happens when we sit together and eat. Meals will include cookout, haystacks, breakfast for supper, pizza, wings, and other tasty treats… And the best part, it’s all FOR FREEEEE!
2. HANG – Every night we will have a time of sitting in circles and sharing from our lives, because we are all on a journey and there’s something good about hearing where others are at while sharing where we’re at.
3. BIBLE STUDY – We are going to study and discuss the Bible together. All 8 weeks we are going to go on a journey through a specific book of the Bible. As we do this, we are going to learn and experience various ways we can go about studying scripture.
4. PRAYER – Every night we will take some time to pray together and for each other.
You can jump in at any point when you arrive home from college. HSM Class of 2017, you are welcome to join in whenever you’d like, but we suggest May 16 or 23 as a good starting point.
College Age Retreat
July 28-30. An extended time to get away, connect with each other and prepare for the upcoming school year. More details coming soon!
We seek to connect every NMC grad with an NMC adult who will simply serve as an encouragement and prayer support.
